As a producer of high-quality circuits in hybrid technology for automotive, medical engineering and industrial automation C-MAC relies now on screen printers from JUKI.

C-MAC has two production plants. One is located in Ronse, Belgium and the second in Sherbrooke, Quebec, Canada. Each site offer automated production lines on the highest level for specialised electronics with enormous requirements for precision and reliability even under harsh conditions.

201-01-news-C_Mac_picture_webSince their introduction in early 2012, the JUKI screen printers have proved their selves to be highly successful in the market. In a little more than one year JUKI has sold more than 100 screen printers in Europe and the US. The printers either replaced existing units in the lines or were sold as a part of a complete JUKI production line offer according to the line solution concept. A fast delivery by JUKI, easy operation and maintenance as well as high printing accuracy convince even such highly specialised customers like C-MAC. The units manufactured by C-MAC have to function faultlessly even under harsh ambient conditions. This can only be achieved by an extremely high production quality. C-MAC is already relying on JUKI pick- and place units for years. Now they integrate their first JUKI GL screen printer in the line.

In the interview, Georges Burez, Production Manager at C-MAC, emphasizes the advantages of the printer. The extremely good price-performance ratio was one of the main reasons for the purchase. The expectations regarding printing accuracy and repeatability were more than fulfilled during the test phase. Each print was evaluated in an SPI. These very good results induced C-MAC to use the printer in a special line for the production of ceramic boards which are part of components for an automotive tier 1 supplier. Since the JUKI GL printer comes with all necessary appliances for vacuum fixing of the circuit boards, a customer specific fixture could be installed quickly and easily. The printer has also been audited very closely by the customer on its attributes.

Both, the easy operation of the printer over the very user-friendly software as well as the low maintenance requirements perfect the very positive all-over impression of this unit. Depending on the order situation the printer is used flexibly in two or three shifts at C-MAC. A preventive maintenance every three months is completely sufficient for a trouble free continuous production of the printer.

With a next step, the JUKI GL will be used in line with a Koh-Young SPI. In a closed loop operation the SPI will submit position corrections to the printer to achieve a constant printing result even with deviations of the circuit boards or the stencil.
